As they say, where do the years go? There are some things I remember as if they only happened yesterday - catching the school bus, working at my first job in London, my first "proper" boyfriend who two-timed me! The list is endless. It's not that I dwell on the past, contrary to that, I try to live in the present and enjoy every moment of my life and only plan the immediate future because we never know where our path will lead us.

I'm Carole-Anne, heading for 60 and seeing life very differently to what I did all those years ago. It's very liberating to not have to adhere to what everyone else is doing or thinking and to be a free spirit.

How do I do this? I'm still respectful of other people's lives, opinions and choice of lifestyle, but it does not dictate my own. I do what I want to do for me. This will include friends, family and partner, but ultimately for me. And one thing I am really mindful of is that it is Never Too Late to try something new, venture to countries I never dreamed I would see, meet people from all walks of life and still be me.
